You are invied to remain silent, close your eyes, and connect fully with sound. Two sound meditation concerts will allow you to immerse yourself in your emotions, revisit memories of loved ones who are no longer with you, and reflect on the present. You will be guided to first connect with your breath, and then with your surroundings.
The title “In the Garden of Silence” comes from a poem by Violeta Parra, one of Latin America’s most important singer-songwriters. In her autobiographical poem, she pays tribute to the deceased:
„They take him into captivity
to the earthly prison
they are going to deposit him
in the garden of silence.“
You are encouraged to bring a candle and place it on the altar. You may also bring photos, flowers, or other personal items that symbolize loved ones who have passed, contributing to a ritual dedicated to honoring the deceased.
The first concert, performed by XIVIS, and the second, by Nonagonforest, will feature high plateau sound meditations using wind instruments, bird sounds, bowls and wooden instruments, Andean percussion, and typical Latin American folk instruments such as Quena, Zampona, and Qultrum. The performance will be enhanced with a special sound system, creating an immersive sound experience.
